About stenograf
stenograf.us monitors US news coverage. We continuously crawl major national outlets and official government channels, cluster their reporting, and compare how the same story is told. The full list, with live crawl status, is on the Sources page.
Events
Coverage of the same story is clustered into Events. Each event page shows how many distinct outlets reported it, what they agree on and where they diverge, and lists every source article with a link to the original.
Where a story can be matched to coverage outside the United States, we publish an explicit divergence comparison: US coverage vs. international coverage, including which facts are absent from each side, attributed to the specific articles that did report them.
What else is on the site
Alongside the feed and event pages: dossiers for the people and organisations appearing in coverage, full-text search, and statistically detected coverage anomalies.
What this adds
The underlying stories are widely reported and easy to find. What is harder to see is the shape of the coverage: which outlets carried a story and which did not, what they agree on, and which facts appear only outside the US press. That comparison is what this site produces.
